In Detail
Simon made his first league appearance as a professional footballer at Notts County after graduating to the first team squad at Sunderland under Peter Reid. On his return to Sunderland after his loan spell at Meadow Lane he made one appearance for Sunderland before transferring to Grimsby Town.
In July 2004 he joined Rochdale and made 112 appearances, scoring 6 goals in his time at Spotland. He stayed there until 2009 when in the summer he joined Bradford City. He has since made 32 appearances for The Bantams and is a popular member of the squad. Unfortunately he has suffered from an injury which has kept him out of action, but he has taken a big interest in issues around Bradford City and was keen to get involved in helping Bantamstrek.
He has raised money for Bantamstrek, which has gone to the Bradford Burns Unit and he did not need to be asked twice when he became patron of Bantamstrek. Due to his injury he could not take part in the Three Peaks Challenge, but is very keen to get involved as much as he can in events arranged by Bantamstrek.
